KIDS BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU CLASSES
BJJ, or Brazilian jiu jitsu, is a grappling martial art that uses a range of techniques to get their opponent to the ground, control them, and force them to submit or “tap out” using chokeholds and joint locks.
BJJ FOR KIDS
BJJ teaches vital life skills like self-defense, discipline, confidence and respect for others.
Far too often, kids get bullied at a young age, which leaves lifelong scars, detrimenting their confidence growing up.
That's why training in BJJ is so important. In our classes, not only will your child learn BJJ, but they'll also build social skills and have fun with other kids their age.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR BJJ?
For No-Gi BJJ classes, it’s important to a wear rashguard, and grappling shorts or to avoid rashes and burns.
It helps to ensure your fingernails and toenails are short when drilling or sparring with partners, so you don’t scratch anyone.
For your trial class your child can wear normal training clothes - Sweatpants and a t-shirt.
Make sure there are no zips or unnecessary buttons on any item for safety reasons. Tie back long hair and bring a water bottle to keep hydrated – you’re going to need it.
